If you're self-employed or run a small business, chances are you're wearing more hats than a village milliner.
You're the business owner.
The salesperson.
The marketer.
The bookkeeper.
The social media manager.
The customer service department.
The tea-maker.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, you're also supposed to do the work your clients actually pay you for.
It often starts small.
"I'll just send those invoices tonight."
"I'll update the website at the weekend."
"I'll answer those emails after dinner."
Before long, evenings disappear into admin tasks and Sundays become "catch-up days".
The question isn't whether you can do it all.
Most business owners can.
The better question is:
"What's taking up your time that you'd rather not be doing?"
Perhaps it's:
Inbox management
Invoicing and chasing payments
Newsletter creation
Updating your website
Social media scheduling
Event administration
Customer enquiries
Forms, spreadsheets and databases
Diary management
Processes that exist only inside your head
Every hour spent doing work you dislike, avoid or repeatedly postpone is an hour you're not spending on the work that grows your business, serves your clients or simply gives you your evenings back.
As a Virtual Assistant, my role isn't to take over your business.
It's to take away the friction.
The tasks that quietly sit in the background consuming time, attention and energy.
Sometimes all it takes is someone asking the right question:
"What's taking up your time that you'd rather not be doing?"
If something sprang immediately to mind when you read that question, perhaps it's time we had a conversation.
